CONFESS

The Bible is clear that we must be clean when we come before God.

Psalm 66:18.
If I regard iniquity in my heart, the Lord will not hear me.

The great news is there is forgiveness and freedom from ALL sin!

1 John 1:9
If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

Examine your heart. Confess sinful attitudes, doubt and unbelief, wrong thoughts, wrong intentions, wrong reactions, wrong relationships, bitterness, anger against God, rebellion, meanness at home, bad language, sinful habits, etc. Confess the root of the sin (i.e. covetousness, sensuality, pride). Be specific.

PRAISE

Take time to come before God with praise and thanksgiving for His goodness and blessings!

Psalm 100:4
Enter into his gates with thanksgiving, and into his courts with praise: be thankful unto him, and bless his name.

Ephesians 5:20
Giving thanks always for all things unto God and the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ.

1 Thessalonians 5:18
In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.

Psalm 118:1
O give thanks unto the LORD; for he is good. –

 Thank God for:
Spiritual blessings-
salvation, forgiveness, peace, joy, love, comfort, freedom, protection etc.

Physical blessings-
life, health, family, friends, possessions etc.

REQUEST

We are invited in 1 Peter 5:7 to cast ALL our care upon Christ! There is no need too big or too small to Him! As the songwriter said, if it matters to you, it matters to the Master!

Matthew 7:7
Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you.

James 5:16
Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another.

Through confession we get the ear of God. When we praise the Lord we please God. Now, we are ready to bring our requests before God!
